World environment day – 5th June’2011

For celebrating World environment day this weekend, local nature activist groups ‘Aapla parisar’ & ‘Nature walk’ have organised Life – Lively Introduction to Forests & Environment during this week. It is being held during 2^nd to 5^th June’2011 at Yeshwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Kothrud, Pune.

The event is inaugurated by Padmabhushan Dr. Madhav Gadgil. Naturist will get a chance to watch various Film screenings on wildlife during the event. Visitors can also participate in -

• Heritage Walk (Shaniwarwada to Vishrambagwada),
• Tree walk (Kamla Nehru Park) &
• Rally ‘Save our earth’ (Tathawade Udyan to Shivaji Statue) which will be followed by
• ‘Save earth Oath ceremony’ at Yeshwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Kothrud, Pune.

Documentary ‘Saving the Tigers’ will be screened as the closing film at the event.
