5 days Exhibition cum sale got inaugurated today at Agriculture college ground, Pune. This fair offers an unique opportunity for urban locality to experience the culture & tastes of rural life. Rural culture is showcased through the presence of Gondhali, Vasudeo, Shepherd, Blacksmith etc. from the village.
To satisfy the foodies, it has got variety of items like kokan meva, kolambi pickle & pakoda, crab curry, Kolhapuri tambda-pandhara rassa, Maval mutton, junnar maswadi, Sinhgad special kanda-bhaji, Khandeshi mande & khichdi etc. Ride of horse & bullockcart is also available to take you back to the golden memories of childhood.
This fair is gaining good popularity year by year & it's already into the 6th year. It is emerging as a brand in itself. This event is organised jointly by Agricultural development trust - Baramati, Mahatma phule agricultural university – Rahuri, District rural development board - Pune and State government’s agricultural department. Most importantly, this fair is a ‘no plastic zone’.
This fair is worth visiting to offer the exposure of culture & tastes of rural life, especially to the kids who are missing & moving away from our rich heritage in these days of modernisation & technology.
