Memorable day at Wankhede, Mumbai

On the close of Day-2 play of 3rd test match with West-indies, we suddenly decided to be at Wankhede for the play of Day-3. Thanks to Sadananda for online booking in advance.
Early morning, we started from Pune by Sinhgad express  & managed to be at Wankhede before noon. Unfortunately, we missed the thunder of Sehwag & the wall Dravid already on the pitch joining Gambhir. It was good sight to see the stadium almost packed by thousands of fans of none other than Sachin. By the time, crowd welcomed Sachin on field; foundation of Indian inning was very well laid down by the fifty of Gambhir & solid defence of Dravid. I must say, the cheering of crowd was very much for the Sachin entering on field & not for the leaving Gambhir for his well crafted inning.
The guts of Gambhir, solid defence of Dravid & elegance of Laxman really made our day. You must be wondering; did I miss to mention about Sachin? Honestly, his inning being at back-foot psychologically in front of Bishoo (who managed to get Sachin’s wicket twice in this series) really didn’t impress me. All of Sachin’s partners were in good touch of the game better than him. Anyway, I don’t want to hurt his millions of fans across the globe due to my honest comments. Sitting in the 'Sachin Tendulkar stand', it was thrilling to watch the ‘6’ of Sachin over 3rd man in this test match.

Also, I must mention of great Dravid. After already scoring a fifty & all other players enjoying tea in dressing room, this man was out in the field to practice along with coach. This incidence is a real lesson for any professional. His dedication, focuss & seriousness towards cricket keeps him a class apart from all other greats of Indian cricket. It was a proud moment for us to witness, Dravid scoring 13000th run of his Test career.
Overall, it was a good experience watching Sachin, Dravid, Gambhir & Laxman playing in the international Test match live. Also, the tickets are priced as low as Rs. 500 only (for 5 days).
Well, I would love to see the match in future too, as I missed the play of Dhoni (my favourite) who does not have the thunder of Sehwag, craft of Gambhir, defence of Dravid, brilliance of Sachin, elegance of Laxman, talent of Yuvraj. Instead, Dhoni has the mind to package all these skills & present it as winning team efforts to millions of cricket lovers.

  3. Very well said!!!! Ofcourse I had told you when you were leaving that Sachin won't be able to make it to 100th century so it happened again!!! :-) But atleast you were able to see elegance and passion for cricket example MR.CRICKET Rahul Dravid.

And ofcourse this blog of yours made me feel in the wankhede :-)
